Beat the Block

This little clip, from one of my favourite TV shows "Extras", is an excellent example of status play. Ricky Gervais is a master of using status as a way to drive the action and the comedy of a scene. Look for the minute character reactions, for the long, drawn out drops in status, and for the way that each character tries to maintain, raise or lower their own status.
